Sooner or later we all experience the dark night of the soul, a spiritual and/or emotional crisis that feels profoundly hopeless and terrifying. Sometimes more than once. For some, the catalyst is illness, or a death in the family, or divorce, or a series of events that shatter the foundation of your life. As someone who has been there and may be there again, what I want to reassure you is threefold:

 

1.) You are not alone;
2.) This is a natural part of life that needs to be honored; and
3.) This, too, shall pass.
